OWL News - March 2017

Dear Everyone,

It's been too long since the last update. Things have been shakin', rattlin' and rollin' at One Wild Life. There have been some big changes so let's dive right in!

Recently, after an internet-free skiing adventure, Tim came to the realization that One Wild Life isn't the right path for him. We have been constantly asking you, "What will you do with your One Wild Life," so when his answer wasn't our business it was hard to fault him for his decision to step aside as an owner.

Over the past few weeks we've been hashing out a plan to extricate Tim from our business partnership while keeping the DNA of One Wild Life intact, and a put into place a plan for the future without an integral part of the OWL team.

It wasn't easy. At times it was really hard. We've been working together for 18 months to develop the concept and begin to build OWL as a business. In the end we made the hard choice to sell our current Adventure Lab to open up possibilities for OWL moving forward as a single owner/operator company. The Lab is so cool we were able to sell it without even putting it up for sale. The Lab's new owner is thrilled, and we anticipate it going on plenty of adventures in the future.

What does this mean for One Wild Life?

Ryan (me) is taking over as sole owner of OWL, and modifying the current business to reflect not having the Adventure Lab as a mobile office space. In the short-term, OWL will continue be an experience first company developing outdoor adventures for businesses, and will open up offerings to private individuals. I'll continue to build a community of people who want to take their working life outside through pop-up events, beach clean-ups, and coffee meet-ups, while pursuing some larger scale creative adventures I'm excited to share with you soon. You'll start seeing these changes reflected here on the website soon.

I'm also on the lookout for the next Adventure Lab. Taking all that I've learned building the first one with Tim I'm certain the next will be just as cool and unique.

Tim is seeking out his own One Wild Life, and has been working to find the right road to travel with his family. In addition to his career searching, he is beginning to grow his custom-made bicycle bag line under the Migration Bicycle Supply banner. I'd say a future collaboration between our two companies is inevitable. I and everyone who has been involved in OWL wish him the best of luck moving forward.

Onward

Over the past several months we've been co-working at the beach, hosting pop-up shops for local brands, continued putting on community building meet-ups and began marketing our corporate services. Every day has been something new, and often both exciting and terrifying! One Wild Life has been a pioneer in the concept of working mobile, so there hasn't always been a guideline of where to go next. Tim and I are proud of what we've accomplished together.

Like I said, things have been shakin', rattlin', and rollin! Thank you for all your continued support of us and One Wild Life. We have some really cool things coming up, and I can't wait to share them with you.

Sincerely,

Ryan Woldt
